Summary of Qualifications:
Overall experience is varied in nature: U.S. Army Calvary Scout, aviation base manager, NVG trainer, troop & cargo transportation, quick reaction team leader, police pilot, FLIR, IFR, ENG, EMS, mountain, Bambi Fire Bucket & sling load operations, ground & flight instruction, aviation consultant, search & rescue, offshore oil rigs, shipboard operations & deck landing qualified, Airborne Infantry Paratrooper, corporate, VIP & political figure transportation (on occasion I was expected to provide personal security in addition to flight duties).
Management skills include those learned in the military and refined in civilian positions with as many as 45 persons being supervised. As an aviation base manager, civilian and military, I was responsible for the overall smooth function of the base, budget, training, and day to day operations including the maintenance of aircraft and facilities. These duties also required me to maintain close contact and coordination with company management, local authorities, The FAA and other government agencies. I was responsible for keeping the company operations manual up to date and make changes as necessary to fit changing conditions and requirements.
Instructor skills in helicopters are quite unique and specialized beyond the average. High altitude, NVG, military and police tactical flying are examples. Numerous schools have given me the training far beyond normal helicopter operations.
• CFI, Commercial/Instrument Rated helicopter pilot with a high level of aircraft operations.
• Over 10,000 flight hours without an accident and over 25 years experience flying helicopters
• Aviation base manager supervising and training 10-15 pilots as well as evaluating potential new employees.
• Company flight & ground trainer for FAR Part 135 and 91 operations
• US Army & US Army Reserve unit trainer in Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and advanced tactical flying.
• Mountain experience and training in high altitude operations that included altitudes as high as 14,000' MSL in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This was in support of military operations with a variety of aircraft. Additionally, operations in support of military movements and training in mountainous desert areas with both high altitude and relatively low altitudes with and without NVG or night vision devices.
• Attended the Colorado Army National Guard High-Altitude Army Aviation Training Site in Gypsum, CO (which provides critical high-altitude, combat training to U.S. Army aircrews)
• Multiple rotations at the U.S. Army's National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA (Most of which was as a NVG unit training pilot).
